Kookaberries were used in two bush science activities as part of a STEM camp organised by the NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group .
Eighty students from year 5 to year 11 measured plant population and abiotic data using quadrats and transects. They were real environmental scientists for the duration of the activity.
Multi-sensor remote data collection
Multiple Kookaberries running different sensor apps (eg, temperature, relative humidity, soil moisture) can be synchronised in real time to transmit their data to a central Kookaberry (usually the teacher's) running the SenseRx app.
Tutorial - Measurement
The Kookaberry uses very low-cost plug-in sensors to measure and store a multitude of environmental and other factors inside and outside of the classroom. It runs pre-coded programmes which can be created or customised as required.
